Born in 1963 in Lvov. Graduated from VGIK. One of the most renowned Russian documentary filmmakers. First movie appearance -1989. Directed over 30 films, produced over 200 projects. Presented his pictures at numerous film festivals: Amsterdam, Cannes, San-Sebastian, Oberhausen, San-Francisco, Locarno, Munich, Montreal, Torino, Tampere, Krakow, Yamagata, Sheffield, Rio-de-Janeiro etc. Mansky’s films received over 30 awards and were often shown at the leading TV channels in Russia, France, Finland, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Israel, Norway, Australia, Switzerland and other countries. In 1995 together with Natalia Mansky collected and preserved unique archives of private amateur chronicles.
Since 1996 Vitaly Mansky popularizes documentary movies at TV. He created and authored “Realnoe Kino” project at the Russian TV Channel 1. The same year he headed REN-TV film screening service, later became the channel general producer. REN-TV was the first Russian TV channel to show several hundred best world documentaries. 1999-2003 – head of production and documentary film screening at Rossya-RTR State channel.
Since 2000 – National Award “Lavrovaya Vetv” (documentaries and TV films) general producer, since 2006 – ARTDOKFEST documentary film festival President.
