An ironical melodrama about the contemporary Moscow middle class. Each of the characters has a personal secret that is hidden from the world: an “intimate part”. The protagonist is the scandalous photo-artist Ivan, who positions himself against the rest of the world. He is convinced that people are born for happiness, and happiness is the freedom to be oneself. But how safe is it to set that “self” free?

NATASHA MERKULOVA

Director, scriptwriter. Born in the Orenburg Region. Graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors. Winner of Award of Artyom Borovik International Press Club of America for the script of documentary “The Cage” (2003). Participant in and winner of national and international film festivals. Her filmography includes “Traumatism” (2008, doc.), “Substance: Milk” (2012, short), “Substance: Jam” (2012, short). “Intimate Parts” is her debut in cinema.

ALEXEI CHUPOV

Scriptwriter, director. Born in Moscow. Wrote the script for the Russian Internet-sitcom “In Contact with Schoolmates” and “The Truth about Eve”. Author of historical documentaries for the TV channel “Russia”. Scriptwriter of numerous TV series. “Intimate Parts” is his debut in cinema.
