Author Ekaterina Zorina

The author travels a lot and makes sketches of the space around her. She shoots videos like photos, where the picture is a context, conveying the process and relating a certain specific characteristics of the environment. In this work the action takes place in different parts of Egypt from Sinai to Cairo. The author is interested in the Other, his perception of her, whether he starts a dialogue or leaves her to observe. The greater part of the footage depicts animals, because they are the metaphorical cameraman or the imaginary agent of the action. There are also people, events and the author’s actions, but she observes them as though she were observing animals.  It is the act of distancing oneself and grasping the common elements in the movements of life.
