Nikolai is the only inhabitant of the village Pashki. Only his house in the centre of the field is preserved. He spent nearly all his life in prison for robbery or other crimes. He had a son, who drank a lot, robbed nearby houses and did nothing. One day he attacked the father who trying to protect himself killed the son. He was conditionally sentenced to one year. It was in 2011. Now he lives alone. Only daughter Tatiana seldom visits him. She loves her father as he is, and father loves her in response. The film tells about tender relations between father and daughter, about the Russian soul, about forgotten parts of the country, where sometimes passions run high.
