The action takes place in 2017. The world is on the brink of another big war. The film’s heroes lead different lives, but nevertheless all of them do not fit into social norms and can be called “superfluous men” (according to the Russian literary concept). The film pictures a story of life, overcoming and struggle. A story of an unfinished building with which their fates are connected.

ALEXEY GERMAN jnr.

Film director, scriptwriter. Born in Leningrad in 1976. Graduated from the director’s faculty of VGIK (class of S.Solovyov & V.Rubinchik). His first full-length film “The Last Train” (2003) earned a Special Mention from the jury of the Venice IFF, won prizes at the Rotterdam IFF and at the Thessaloniki IFF, also won a Nika Award among many other awards. His second film “Garpastum” (2005) won many awards in Russia and abroad, including Nika Award and prizes at international film festivals in Sofia, Bratislava, Tallinn, Bucharest, Wiesbaden, etc. His third film “Paper Soldier” won 2 Nika Awards and 2 prizes at the Venice IFF.
