Andrey Konchalovsky, born August 20, 1937, Moscow, father Sergey Mikhalkov (1913-2009) mother Natalia Konchalovsky (1903-1988), well known writers. Theater and film director, scriptwriter. People’s Artist of Russia (1980); awarded an order “For Services to Motherland” (1997), academician of the National Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (2002), officer of an order of Arts and Literature (France) (2005).
Altogether Andrey Konchalovsky wrote 33 scripts, directed 25 films, staged nine highly acclaimed theater plays, including five operas, several mass performances, published six books and over one hundred articles, received numerous prizes, awards and titles.
