LARS VON TRIER

Born in 1956 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Studied film at the Danish Film School and attracted international attention with his very first feature, “Element of Crime” (1984). In 1995 announced the Dogme 95 manifesto and in 1996 he premiered his own Dogme film “Breaking the Waves”. His movies have all been officially selected for the Cannes International Film Festival, where they won awards. His features for television have gleaned numerous international accolades. His filmography includes “Europa” (1991), “The Idiots” (1998), “Dancer in the Dark” (2000), “Dogville” (2003), “Manderlay” (2005), The Boss of It All” (2006), “Antichrist” (2009), etc.
