GEORGY PARADZHANOV
Born in 1960 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Graduated from the Tbilisi Theatre Institute and VGIK in Moscow, trained at the Cinecittà Studio in Rome. His first film, the documentary short “Burial Season” (1991), won prizes at international film festivals in Karlovy Vary and Rimini. His first feature short “Jado” (1993) won the Jury Prize at the Locarno IFF. His first full-length film “I’m a Seagull” (2000, doc.) was shown at the Venice IFF and won prizes in Russia and abroad. His documentary “I Died in Childhood” (2004), devoted to his uncle Sergey Paradzhanov, the famous Soviet film director, was shown at the Cannes IFF and was awarded at Russian and international film festivals. “Everybody’s Gone” is his first full-length feature film.
